The Demons Haven'T Won

Battling demons in the dark
Behind the light of a smile

Hoping to find a precious spark
To make the fight worthwhile

Evading the relentless attack
Coming in wave after wave

Trying hard not to crack
Your existence is there to save

Life outside is a blur
There is nothing clear to see

Desperately seeking the spur
To find the energy to flee

Loved ones don't know of the struggle
Or of the warfare in your head

Of the pressure of trying to juggle
Between happiness and dread

Although the conflict carries on
The demons haven't won

Your passion hasn't gone
Exhausted, but you are not done
