The Delusion of Bliss
She fights the feeling,
But him, she can't resist,
It erupts occasionally,
In a furious mist,
The reason for being here,
She can't deny,
Prolonged denial,
Will become a heartbreaking goodbye.
The parting will break him,
But what's the answer,
To live for years,
With the argumentive cancer,
The fighting and screaming,
The delusion of bliss,
Forfeiting the truth,
For the love of her lips to kiss.
He lives in contentment,
The world he knows around his feet,
She struggles with her pleasures,
This avenue is not her street,
Anxiety and apprehension lingers,
Depression and dejection is near,
The fate of their future,
Lies in their decision to adhere.
Who’s in the right?
And who’s in the wrong,
Who is the weak and who is the strong?
It’s a constant battle,
A feud of the mind,
Opposites have come together,
And realized how much they’re alike,
And as the war rages,
With each and every strike,
In its essence,
It’s truly finite.
