The Deep State of Blue

Looking down the rabbit hole peering into the deepest state of blue
My tangled soul falls headlong into the abyss
Nothing left to miss
Ive dug my own hole to nowhere
Left numb without concern or care
Yet all these wasted years and salty tears
Shattered hopes and petty fears
Have made this hollow abyss my empty home
And alone i find comfort being an outcast
Living with a conscience trashed
Accepting the sting of the accusors lash
Waiting for the spreading numbness to take hold
Breathing deep the dark and cold
Expelling whats left of this crippled soul
I become one with the deep state of blue
Im not the man I thought i knew.

It's so hard when one can't believe in themselves. Carl, i remember this poem. I find it with gloom, and in due time, you will find the silver lining. Hugs, Linda
