India now has Anna Hazare. He has shown the world what can be accomplished when you renounce corruption and stand for justice. The 80s were great.

I think I never congratulated you on this win, Kash. It was one of the best for the 80's because being from a different country, you were able to focus more on the whole world and THE big news of that era. Way to go, kash, with this amazing poem.

Great poem for this contest, Kash....I think I wrote to you before how much I liked your personal twist at the end! Still stitching , eh? I studied this Gandhi in school and his assassination was a true loss to your people. I think I am a lil discouraged that my writing style isn't what is appreciated here..I might have to pause...take some poetry lessons and rejoin later...wahhhhhhh. Again, have the best weekend! This is spectacular with mentioning of the first big shock of your life and then your personal emotions at the conclusion. So, do you think we are better off than in 1980, that is the question? The 80's were a personal highlight of my existence...up hill since then. Nice to hear a male's twist on the affects of the mending heart. :) (north south east or west?) Gwendolen

I remember how sad I felt when I heard about the assassination of Indira Gandhi, Kash. The Berlin Wall coming down was a victory for the free world. Still don't know how Michael Jackson did that "moon walk," and believe me I have tried to do it with no success. You've got a winner, my friend! I will be posting something shortly for the "animal" contest. Love, Carolyn
