The Debt of Translucent Love
The Debt of Translucent Love
I owe you patience like crystallized honey and grace like a dance of butterflies,
chocolate flowers melted in cake dust that floats magically upon the tongue,
ugly movies watched together in time that flows slowly like warm wax that flies,
Prada meetings with you dressed in dresses that shine like liquid silver sung.
Ah wait, you don't love red velvet cake anymore because of others' hatred dark,
yes it's true, from their jealous spite toward your happiness that lights the air,
I used to write about my life but now I'm silent and keep secrets in my heart's bark,
stay out of my private affairs that I hide under velvet skin with care.
I got a triple-double last week at the gym in the sweat of salt's pure rain,
the broken dishwasher wrinkled my fingers in water cold as the glacier's core,
what's the point of wealth if I still wash dishes with my trembling hands in pain,
I don't give a damn about their dark thoughts about me the invisible one they ignore.
I know they couldn't know anything about me hidden behind the curtain's veil,
your loyalty keeps me on the ground where my deep roots grow into earth below,
you must move carefully through the landscape of our magical love without fail,
I have a good one who feels like a queen in our palace of silver dreams' glow.
