The Death of Immortality
You wake
You wait for life to slowly kick in
And then you sigh.
Time is your master
And you its slave.
Only the old and the weak despises its tick
As it mercilessly gnaws away at the flesh
Until the sound is so deafening that death is your only release.
Embrace your mortality.
Rejoice in the knowledge that now is all you will ever truly possess
And let the rest blow away on the wind.
