The Dead Have No Voice

Because the dead, the dead have no voice.
You cannot hear them murmur in the dust.

Below the silent wind, they are more silent.
Under the dry water, they are more dry.

Before the faceless sky they have no face.
Among all forgotten words no words come.

That’s why you must listen to them now,
While they still have breath to cry out,

Before they are lost to time and history
And become our own shameful legacy.
