The Days Before Y2k
Looking at the news,
Hearing of this Y2K ,
Everyone is concerned,
So scared,
So fearful,
That they will have no internet or cellphones.
I remember our cellphones,
They were C.B. radios In our cars.
The phones at home are called landlines.
The worst thing about that,
Was the cord not reaching.
Cable, there was no Cable only 3 channels.
There was no such thing as a couch potato.
Kids played outside until dark.
Families ate at the dinner table every nite.
No video games, no Nintendo.
Technology has made life easier,
But burdened the family dynamic.
Then the announcement there was no Y2K.
So now everyone can keep their,
Precious little toys.
I sit wondering is this really a good thing?
So back to video games, cell phones
And families ignoring each other and
The disappearance of family dinner's.
A thing of the past.
