Notes About The Poem

The Days

The Days

In the quiet days,
between Christmas...
and the New Year
there are tears of joy,
and loss combined
together.

Some welcome what is to come.
Others are afraid of what will be.
God is the only truth that shines,
through all the time-s,
both good,
and bad.

Goodbye, yesterday,
hello to tomorrow...
a face without sorrow,
a race to start again
and win.

The light shines in the morning,
and the moon is bright in the night.
Whisper goodbye with a sigh
and eat apple pie
one piece at time,
and all will be fine.

Apple pie, a laugh and a cry -- each and every day, smell the roses and take a deep sigh... ~ gw

Lovely, Ann! First and last verse my favorites. Happy New Year, my friend?
