The Day They Decapitate Me

the day they decapitate me
will be the day
I stop showing up for work
They will have to hire someone else
To sit here writing poems, pretending I am listening
To make personal phone calls, pretending I am working
I may not say anything
when it happens
but I will be furious.

Thank you for brightening up a very dreary day, Caren!

Did you catch the hilarity in "I might not SAY anything"? Snicker. Snicker.

(chuckle) I can't see that happening anytime soon, Caren. They need you. Every school needs a you.

Caren, you are making such a great difference in those kids lives. It is clear to me. Children instinctively gravitate to those adult around them who really care for them. I have such respect for you!

They love me. I walk down the hallway and six kids yell "Mrs. Kay, take me! Take me!" One of them asked to see me all day long the first day of school; her teacher BEGGED me to take her first thing the next morning. WHAT?
