The Day She Died
Wake up,
Breathe and everything will be ok.
But I can’t move, what is this?
I’ve felt this before, I’ve been here before—yet.
I want to scream,
I need to scream and everything will be ok.
Is this a dream? Maybe sleep paralysis.
I’ve had this before, I’ve woken up before—yet.
All I can do is watch,
All I am doing is pretending that everything will be ok.
But as her blood continues to pool on the floor,
everything goes still and I don’t wake up.
I don’t know what to do,
I’ve never been here before.
