The Dawn, An Ending

The dawn will be coming quickly now,
See how restless the darkness lies?

		I don't want the night to leave just now though-
		Think we could fasten it down with knots and ties?

Listen! Can you hear the birds?
They clamor of the sunrise-

		Yes, my love, believe me, I heard...
		I was praying it was only a beautiful lie...

But we need to get you home, my sweet;
We'll be pressed to beat the of ingress of first light-

		Can't we just be like this, a minute longer, please?
		I only want... It's just, I need... to have you memorized.

My life... for a minute more, I'll pause the earth for you.
But come now, then; there is an end, to even sweetest delight.
