The Dating Game
The room is dark
the candle’s reflection
sway shadows over your face
the uneasiness is replaced by awareness,
How did we get here?
you were only a friend
when did we cross the indiscernible line?
and started this dating game?
I never knew you could be so sweet
for years you’ve been the one
to catch me when I fall,
the one who wiped the tears,
the one who picked up the
broken pieces of my heart
little did we know,
you were the one that held my heart
in your hands,
the embrace that sheltered me
from the start, now sends shivers down my spine
do we continue this dating game?
and maybe just maybe,
turn it into a family starting game?
