The Darkness Is-

I was watching a scene from my favorite show on TV
The face in the picture on the casket turned to me
I was horrified and the dark was all I could see
My throat echoing with a silent scream

The darkness came for me and opened my eyes
I was in my bedroom, to my surprise
I thought my religion had told me lies
Just propaganda in its hopeful disguise

The thoughts and the fear were making me deranged
My life and my death would be exchanged
But I no longer see the darkness as scary and strange
Now that Great-Grandpa's gone, I see it as change

Wow, this is a great poem that many have touched on, but few have put so eloquently. Death is feared by so many as it is one of the great unknowns, but your point of view on this topic is very wise indeed! Great write, keep up the good work! ^^
