The Darkness Inside

As the dark creeps in
I sly away
To the valley of the unknown
Where darkness never sleeps
snakes and skeletons are the floor
to the unknown

I try to feel my way
to the despair of of a hissing breath
I become the darkness
and it becomes me

afraid am I not
for the darkness is one with my soul
and I am it's master

Nor do I shiver
nor look down
for the darkness give me the strength
to wonder alone

The fire becomes the night
and the creatures walk among the ash
dripping with envy
the sleeplessness wants free
to the leaves they give cold
but nothing can be seen
for the only ones that see
are the ones walking among the night

The darkness chooses your soul
and you can't ever escape the valley
the more you run the deeper inside you become
