The Darkened Sky Stole My Tears
The darkened sky stole my tears last night,
Without a whisper, without a fight.
It opened wide with clouds of gray,
And swept my sorrow clean away.
Each drop it took, a silent plea,
That once had lived inside of me—
A longing born of wordless ache,
Of promises the dawn can’t make.
I stood beneath that stormy shroud,
No longer needing to cry aloud.
The thunder spoke what I could not,
And grief dissolved in every blot.
A sky so dark it matched my soul,
But rain began to make me whole.
For in its fall, I found release—
A fleeting taste of quiet peace.
Now when the heavens start to moan,
I know I do not weep alone.
The night may come with storm and fears—
But still, the sky remembers tears.
