The Dark Was Heaven

The sky expanded to meet the horizon.
A sudden dark comes when night steals the heavens,
an unexpected magnificence, not a madness in art
embraced in privacy to soak it all in.

A gentle keening of the wind, a stillness unbroken,
no arguing with the phases of creeping shadows
that haunt and echo through the haze of dreams.
but lock this vision in your mind - cherish it.

As you dream, so shall your visions be.
Carry these beyond the reach of tempests.
at the helm of your thoughts, vanquish the dark,
the heavens will open a straight pathway of grace.
