The Dance Poetic

It seems to me
    I've had this dream before.
The dance poetic
rising in the misty dreamy calling.
It may be
   I failed to reply before.
Here it is again
hovering in the shadows of night.
My name is all it whispers and sings
   and the enticement never ceases.
Play it then,
      the music loud then soft
as my feet find movement in the rhythm.
I should answer the call
to the dancing in my soul
With the swirl and sway
   of words, image and phrase.
The freely flowing whimsy
   found in the dance poetic
speaking out my name.
