The Dance of Anger… A weary waltz, on a sheenless floor. Offbeat music gyrates an endless cycle. On two, accent anxiety’s weakness Syncopated rhythms erupt. Love songs are a miss. Vinyl scratched, for a touch a large charge or a bit of blood.* Choreographed to move timely and allay tears. Uncrazy! Dance to a different drum.

Anger is a natural feeling, but we must control it. There are a few who are angry with me and never repent. I am not like that. I forgive all.

Anaya, I do like how you start with a weary waltz. Anger does consume those who experience it and leaves a lot less room for creativity and art. The heater skelter nature that follows reflects that for me. Nothing really works well until we can express our hurt in a positive way and move on. The way you have portrayed this with dance has me moving my body around to see how I feel and to shake loose anything unwanted! TY!!!

A seething raging surge dances to the tune of fury. It's an option to shake it off, but there is more... we can't say snap out of it to someone who is render helpless, hopeless, it's kicking someone when they are down adage. Thank you for a fun review, Duke!

We all dance to a different drum Anaya, a rush of blood can come from many genres, even love songs, but I’m guessing for the dance of anger you have in mind here no mosh pit is required, it’s all about attitude, I’m not familiar with the Yalto form, so I’ll wish you all the best for contest, cheers David

The anger dance will recur as long as we don't change our attitude yes. More blood rush of anger -where the beginning is the end, and the end is the beginning. No moshing required, no snake pit either, just a fresh drum circle. Yalto is 15 lines, 3 words, 4 words, 2 words 4,5,3 etc. Sometimes I need constricting forms as a new challenge. Hey Anaya.. Your poem effectively uses the metaphor of a dance to explore themes of emotional exhaustion, disconnection, and the longing for change. The vivid imagery and rhythmic dissonance capture the tension and complexity of the relationship, making the reader feel the strain and yearning for a new beginning. The final lines offer a glimmer of hope, suggesting that breaking free from the old patterns and finding a new rhythm is possible and necessary for emotional renewal.

The final lines are a contrast yes, self-wellness begins with knowing how to change the endless cycle of patterns that'll help change us, so we can dance to a different drum. Thank you. :)

I love the ambiance of where the dance is performed. It so adds to the feeling. Your off-beat dance of differences and anger, should be a prize winner.

The ambiance, I like that. The reference to Sylvia's metaphor for 'blood' is anger, I think I did it correctly, adding the *asterisk next to the line. Yalto, I know you are familiar with it, you've done many of Ed's form. Not sure if I got the- and a one and a two-on two thing across, with minimum words, but it was my choice of form. Thank you.
