The Dance

Mi cielo
it seems
I cannot have you
nor leave you
between this not having you
or the leaving
I fail to comprehend
my reason for loving you
somehow I know all the while
why I should forget you...

You do not wish to alter
your deceptive ways
or cease seeking me
so I will alter my heart
so that half of it
will now abhor you
while half remains to adore you...

Since we're bound in passion
let us find a happy medium
all this anguish is non-productive
so let us diminish this behavior
of jealousy and mistrust...

For one who only offers
half of themselves
should not demand all from the other
and remember this mi amor
while you are dancing of deceit
know that my dance
will reflect yours...

this is a very fitting title, since it seems the other half is dancing around the topic of real love. A very interesting theme you covered. But maybe if you go ahead and give your all, it will inspire your partner to do the same!! This is so different from the new Johnny Legend song I have recently been hearing: I give you all of me. Have you heard it?
