The Dance

We join the dance our fathers knew, Singing along to their favourite tune. We know the dance like a snail knows its shell, Our mothers and brothers have taught us well. We join the dance our fathers knew, Clapping along like they told us to. The dance goes on like some endless summer day, Pleases the ears and makes the people sway. Come join the dance if you haven’t got the time, Be sure to try the tasty treats and sip the blood-red wine. We join the dance our fathers knew, Practise the moves though we know them through and through, We like to try and learn a new dance everyday, Removes our fears and it helps us pay our way, Dancing around in a room too small, Who shall be the first to fall? Prancing around like we’re ten feel tall, Who shall be the first to fall?
