Author's Notes: "The Curve of Time," is a very special rhymed couplet that I just completed on July 22, 2017. Without going into any great detail, the original idea and my back-story for this particular couplet was based on a recent read of some studies on Albert Einstein's "Theory of Relativity," and his conceptual view that "space" is finite, while "time" in infinite. This view is integral to the concept that the space-time continuum is curved, which has given rise to the established existence of the fourth dimension. I am, by my academic background and training, certainly not a scientist, but my purpose with this particular couplet was to consider and view this very complex notion of the curve of time beyond our three-dimensional world from a pure poetic perspective. The true realization of all of this deep scientific complexity most certainly lies beyond our present circumstance right now, today, in this first quarter of the twenty-first century. Yet, I thought, after studying all of this for a while, it might be worth the effort to look at it all afresh from a poet's perspective. And so, with this explanation, here is my couplet on "The Curve of Time." Let me just say also that this write is my poetic contribution to the ever-evolving nature of the scientific method. Enjoy this unique poetic journey! (Gary Bateman - July 22, 2017) (Couplet)
