The Cup Named Today

There was no future for him.
Is that why he drinks a cup
mixed with the past that won't intoxicate him?

There was, however, the time
called today with big hole,

it was there for him
though it’s not his concern
whether there’s today or not;
is that why he draws a picture
to cover the hole with his tears on a piece of torn canvas?

Since he has no will power to exclude today,
though he has no future and is burdensome,
he must drink this cup
whether it’s tear, sigh, or desperation;
he must drink the cup named today.
