The Creature

Deep in the Tennessee mountains Lives a creature the people fear It only comes out to celebrate And to feed just twice a year Covered in hair from head to toe And a stench that was never defined A reward went out to capture this beast But all who would declined Some called it sasquatch but they were wrong For only a few of us knew the truth My wife had seen it her entire life And told the stories of her tearful youth You'd know the fear I speak of If only once you ever saw This hideous beast that walks the earth I call it my mother- in- law

Oh, you really had me going, Larry! You built suspense so well that I couldn't wait to find out what the "creature" was! Then, of course, the punch line produced a hearty laugh. Great work! Love, Carolyn
