The Courage To Provide

I am in a dark place
It is dismal in my land

Radiant is the sun
That shines upon my breast—
Laughter is the sound that you feel,
Puffing out your chest—

You are

Too much of man;
Or
Too much a woman;

You're a child!

As you run away from life and find a new kind of smile turned
Upside down;

(And you)
You are turned
Inside out.

Becoming the man you used to denounce;
Overcompensating…

For what(?)

—A lack of ego and pride
Feeling ashamed
Deep down inside—

Not outside; from with-in.
You have the courage...

The courage to provide
