The Couch Doesn'T Pull Out

Walking a plank into a miserable ocean of loneliness Not knowing how to feel the earth beneath my feet The learning process was long and unstable I couldn’t hear the voices of reason My conscience not capable of such logic You told me not to fear You taught me how bleed I pitter pattered throughout your heart without doubt You pitter pattered to another’s Sadly caught, you tried redemption I sought revenge Killing myself by allowing your presence Slowly pulling the trigger held to my head Easing into the gunshot Like valium filling my filthy mind Cupid’s arrow surely missed the mark You can’t stay here tonight My arms tight with stroke Jesus surely would not allow such madness Religious free and full of angst Whether drowning in the ocean or absorbing the shot Worthiness shall only be measured by my heart.
