The Couch

What happens to old couches We're not allowed to sit on After the plastic is removed And the flowered pillows are gone The carpet was well used From sitting on the floor As a kid I would wonder What are couches for The living room now empty I look inside and stare How did it get it's name If no one lives in there

Nice one. When you think of it, many things we're familiar with don't make sense, but somehow we make sense out of them just to give some kind of meaning to life. This is human nature at its best. Thank you Richard.

Huh, Yep I can relate, my grandparents kept their house like a museum, it was sure strange to see everything gone after they passed on.

I think it was a common practice for a certain generation.

Good thing we had carpet, those floors were pretty hard. The special part was the strange and wonderful people that inhabited our lives even if they chose not to sit in their special rooms.

nice one! one of my friends had a couch with the plastic covers and we kids were not allowed into that living room, which always looked so neat. at my house, which was a mess, we could sit anywhere. i used to wonder which way was better, but i liked the messy comfortable one and still do!

I like you prefer the Chaotic and used over the Pristine lonely places.
