The Corner of 19 and Love

I used to be so brave in the face of love I believed in the heat of your touch, and the promise of the sun Was ravaged by the ways you threw at me, the webs you built around me And I gave everything that wasn't mine to give My body, my mind, twisted into what you were looking for And I relaxed into the knowing I was a better poison to taste Was a better knife to your heart than she was, she was... You gave me truth in every drunken play, your car crash ways And my shallow words spoke over you Drag the net, because bleeding is better when you're breathing So that even when you shook the foundation, I found myself waiting again.
