The Cookies



Bird food bought instead
Of cookies, no dread
Of eating them at tea or 
Snack, I'll make brownies
Ride over the counties
Maybe do fun chores galore

Who am I kidding
Can't do forbidding
I'll just eat so much, much more
Maybe some apples
Dipped so they're dappled
No, I'm trapped just as before

great into: A food addict speaks. That could be me as well. I always dip apples in caramel. I just have to. I don't like them plain!! Surprised I did not see this one yet

Andrea, I go in carb withdrawal if I don't get a little something sweet. LOL..Sometimes an apple or an orange will satisfy though. I do like apples and caramel or sharp cheddar cheese. This morning I made orange and cranberry muffins. Delish. Sara K

Brandy, the birds haven't been coming as much. Maybe they sense the cold weather coming and have moved farther south. There are always some out there but there were so many. Thanks for the visit. Sara K

Sara choosing to buy the birdseed instead of your desirable cookies is such a sacrifice and testament to your love for your birds. Your joy in feeding them outweighed your craving for your cookies. Yes, those cookies are very good in the afternoon with a nice cup of coffee, milk, hot chocolate, or tea. I would like some right now, but I don't have any. The bird have seed though. Thanks for the visit. Sara K

What a great idea dear friend Sara. Some bird foods are excellent for human comsumption like millet. The hidden wonders of millet are the need of the hour when the world is tired of eating rich and non useful foods. You have given a beautiful message in this sweet little poem. Why, thank you, Ravindra. I bought birdseed for the wild birds that I see from my kitchen window. Those birds bring so much joy to my life on a drab day. I could not buy birdseed and store-bought cookies at the same time so I will either have to do without cookies and let my spirit be blessed or get cookies to fill my human appetite and not have the birds to fill my spirit. I chose to feed the birds this week and probably will cook some homemade brownies. Thanks for the visit. Sara K
