The Constant Bell

The Constant Bell

 ( R.E.M. Plays Torrevieja July 1st 2006 )

The tickets were four months old
Pristine we handed them over

The dusk hot summer night fell
On us all

The air already ricocheting

As the constant bell
Went off in my head

I closed my eyes
To listen
Motionless and still
As the crowd danced and leaped
Jostled and swayed

I am still
Rock
Soaring
In
Sound

The constant bell

I looked up to a dark starless sky
A caved roof
Beneath which by rainbow spotlight
Thronged the mass
To music

“What’s the Frequency Kenneth ! ah ha !”

Can you hear us God !
I asked
We are still here !
I streamed the question out
Cascade on the beat

Can you here us !

The constant bell
Spiraling me out

I held onto my friend
As I lifted
The sudden blue light ripple
Connected
Through each and every solar plexus
Sent
Messages
Connected
Out to the world

Can you hear us !

In these thousands faces
As we celebrate

The constant bell

It rings out loud

Can you hear us !

In this prism pandemonium
By electric
The voices
The sound
This music !

Can you hear us !

In the constant bell

Sounds (reads) like a spiritual experience. Awesome memory. Well captured. Uh, were drugs involved? : ) Just kidding!!!!! Sorry, having fun. Love, Shar

Is that where you taught the world to sing-in perfect harmony?I dunno, I have never been to a R. E. M. concert , well I did go see John Denver in Concert with my church group around the age of 10, does he count? Al right you can stop snickering now :)-AA
