The Consequence of Face

It was easier when I didn’t know you-
When the assumed outlined
Made my assumptions more agreeable
Having a good time balking
At the inane disgrace unfolded
But like peering through a telescope
Time was all dust and gravity

There was no sense of you being you
In this whirlpool of giddy escape
Maybe irresponsible, though I do believe
Irrepressible to think in this way
But on a quick, sudden glance
I caught the truth of you being
Shaken to the foundations
Though not moving an inch

Your husband quickly shot me down
So as to back from the radius
My well being I realized
Was dancing on the edge of time
Residing where no fingers grope
Where the ocean welcomes me
