The Common
His ship taking on water
In heavy seas tossed
The captain went down
No others were lost
The old sidewalk preacher
He saved more than a few
Humble to the end
Achieved more than he knew
All parents who struggle
To care for the young
Through the years of their lives
With their work never done
No book shall be written
For these common folk
Who passed on the torch
That others may hope
