The Coming of the Lord Is Near

Since the Lord’s coming is near…
I’m resolved to work for His kingdom’s advancement
As His servant toward discipleship-engagement;
His Gospel I must share with commitment
Being persuaded that He is the source of my blessed fulfillment!

Since the Lord’s return is near…
I’m committed to pray with fervency
As His child whom He grants mercy;
His heart I must trust - devoid of hypocrisy
Being upheld by His provisions’ sufficiency! 	

Since the Lord’s appearing* is near…
I’m devoted to worship Him with gratefulness
As His ransomed who’s bound to heaven by His loving kindness;
His name I must lift up against sinfulness 
Being constrained by His Word to shine in His holiness-brightness!

*1Peter 1:7 That the trial of your faith, being much more precious than of gold that perisheth, though it be tried with fire, might be found unto praise and honour and glory at the appearing of Jesus Christ.
