The Colors Green

The colors so green Drifting high in the trees Are like none that I’ve seen In the warm summer breeze Blinders for the eyes Casting out your sun Shadows on the lines Over matters left undone A heart that lies broken For the spirit left aching All the words that we’ve spoken Fade like dreams as we waken The colors of green A mixture in the meadows From a black and white dream To the blues and the yellows Four leaves to the clover The gift you are receiving Is it luck that runneth over, Or the truth that is believing? Verdant colors that you nurture Petals soft and evergreen The kaleidoscope of future A touch of nature unforeseen Michael 5/12/2020
