The Coloring Book
Life is like a coloring book
When you’re born you open to the first page
Everywhere you go, every new person you meet
Is like a new shade drawn on you
Every new year that dawns a new age
Is like turning to a different page
And as the years go by and you pick a new shade
The colors will slowly start to fade
Finally when you’re older and your almost done coloring
You will look back in your book
And remember all the things you did
All the mistakes you’ve made
When you colored outside the lines
The tears you’ve cried all so many times
The corners of the book that have little stains
And all your happiness that remains
Life is like a coloring book
From the day you were born
The first page
To the day you get ready to blink out
Look back and close the book
