The Color of Spring

No longer numb from winter chill
I feel the warm sun on my face
So good to finally be alive
and not frozen to one place
Grey skies now turned to blue
budding trees of green stand round
Beautiful flowers now in bloom
as squirrels frolic on the ground
Birds of yellow, blue and red
such joy their songs do bring
I'll just stand here for a while
and enjoy the color of spring
