The Clouds Above You
The death of agony
Seeing clearly
The bright-eyed dawn
And hearing its song
Last tears of melancholy
The bridge across
The churning muddy waters
Hugs from both my daughters
On the other side
Where they cross'd
The last breath of my broken body
The mangled car, the wailing sirens
Peering down the blue
From floating cloud islands
My old life fades from view
There's a meadow in my heart
Where in dream we take part
In lover's rendezvous
Sitting ‘midst the blowing flowers
Laughing through the night's fleeting hours
Watching the sunrise from so high a view
Feeling the warmth when my arms
Are around you
When you awake
And I, glimmers of fading dream
Back to the silent lake
Flows the babbling stream
But upon the eve’s tide
When Its banks overflow
We’ll walk side by side
In our flowered meadow
And on those nights the moon sails beyond our stars
And we miss that little kindly space that was all ours
keep thy golden aire and don’t be blue
I'm in the clouds above you
Just out of view
