The Cloud

The cloud looked down in silent shame -
'Oh! What do I do? My lighting kills!'

The strong winds blew it to pastures green -
'O Look down now - your rainfall heals!'

A beautifully concise personification of nature’s double power: the cloud’s destructive lightning is answered by the healing grace of rain. The balanced two-stanza form and echoing exclamations give it a gentle, memorable turn from remorse to renewal. Congratulations on your contest placement
