Notes About The Poem

The Cloak of Manannan

dense mist is swirling Manannan’s grey cloak descends I yearn for sunlight Manannan's cloak is a mythical shroud of mist that Manannan would throw over the Isle of Man to shroud us from our enemies in times of trouble I wrote this poem on 14th Dec… yesterday our friend Jackson sent us this picture, which he had got from the International Space Station. I thought the picture was so incredible and matched my words so accurately that I had to post it. 12 - 17 - 17

I always said I'd not use pics but the poem was crying out for images of the cloak of manannan as the most really does shroud the island in thepic:-) hugs Jan xx

Thanks Nathan! Who would have thought this would have been so visible from the space station and what a perfect picture of the mist surrounding our tiny island!:-) I don't think the poem would work without the image:-) hugs Jan xx

very much enjoyed the imagery of the words, likening the mist to a cloak...but I could not see the picture to which you referred.
