The Clinging Leaf

I stare and watch
In my strange delight
While you cling to your last
Strings of what was life
Brown and demised
Fluttering in the breeze
As winters tease
Reminder of times passage
Lost and alone
Where the rest has gone
Would you still be here?
When springs blossom is near?
Or will you finally pass
And allow new buds to grow here?
Cling if you must
But be weary of the
Gusts
That life shall bring
