The Cleansing

Inside my pride
Lies a lie denied
Now revealed
In every tear i cried
That crippled my ragged soul inside
How could i be so naive
To believe
You would never decieve
And crush my heart
Like crisp winters leaves
Buried alive with all my dreams
That once were bursting at the seams
Nothing left
To be redeemed
Or so it seems
Played a fool, i hide in shame
only my own ignorance to blame
Life will never be the same
As this pain remains
From your vicious game
Ill let the sea carry me away
And drown my heart in salty spray
Until im cleansed , here ill stay
And memories of you
 are washed away

Carl, this is deep.... how we sabotage ourselves by holding on. It's good to drown, and get awa5. Anything to wash and cleanse our heart from all the rotten evil stuff it had to deal with. The sea, sounds like tranquility. However, it has its deep ends....luv....Linda

First time I am stopping by, and really glad I did. This is a brilliant and poignant write Carl. I always feel that water.. sea or otherwise has a deeper 'cleansing' of our souls than just the literal sense. Xx~Xx
