The Clan Keeper
The Clan Keeper
The matriarch in the totem pole;
Gave her knowledge freely.
So that her offspring would know;
The beauty of the mystery.
And each generation born;
From seeds she planted by the family tree.
Would be decoration adorned;
That sets her spirit free.
Then continues on her presence;
Throughout the centuries.
And those that acknowledge the imprints;
Are her blossoms and her leaves.
When the wind blows through the boughs;
We hear her call our names.
When the owl cries and the wolf howls;
We know her mark has sustained.
And as the family grows;
The matriarch lives in each member.
We are the seeds she sowed;
And with gratitude we remember.
