The City Never Sleeps
The city never sleeps,
The drunkards, the homeless and the lonely weep,
The hum of engines, the icy bite of the midnight air,
The busy bus stations where,
People come and go as they please,
But at night there is no ease,
For the bright lights continue to flair on,
The demons and dangers that lurk in the shadows are never gone,
The pavement is your wondering path,
The buildings become giants who could unleash their wrath,
Streets signs are like a blurred vision,
A quick step u take to ease the tension,
The noise stirs up and you just listen,
Time no longer has meaning,
You keep drifting and leaning,
to wherever your adventurous notions lead you.
