The Circle of Life

The last song faded and a silence ensued,
The last step was danced and bows taken,
Her heart beat it's last and now she sleeps.

The last bullet was fired and the battle ended,
The last sword withdrew and the wounded lay dying,
Her soul ascended into the heavens as darkness fell.

A woman cried out in labor-a child was born,
She watched it in sleep content, a new life began,
Her soul reached its destination to rest at God's feet.

And all the world was as she left it unchanged?
But, she was just a memory.
