The Circle

A toothless smile
The chubby hands
Playing with mama’s hair
She nestled happily
    That first tooth
    That knowing smile
    With mama and papa
    She crawled around
That hesitant step
That first fall
With loud encouragement
She moved along
    That first day of school
    First step outside the house
    With tears in mama’s eyes
    She said goodbye
That first boyfriend
The feeling of excitement
With fear in papa’s heart
She flowed rapidly by
    That little broken heart
The feeling of end of the world
    With tears on the pillow
    She learnt a lesson
The day of her marriage
The smell of new clothes
Tears in loved ones eyes
She silently left
    That little angel
    She carried lovingly
    She became a mother
    The circle was complete.
