The Church of God
THE CHURCH OF GOD
The church of God one day began
In hearts and lives of willing men.
The Spirit filled them with His power;
Three thousand came to Christ that hour.
And when the persecutions came,
There still were those who claimed His name.
And though they died, the church survived,
And through God’s power it was revived
Though churches may not be the same,
And may be called by different names,
If we by faith all trust God’s Son,
That faith in Jesus makes us one.
Some day the sky will blaze with light,
And all the church will take its flight
To heaven’s bright, eternal shore
Where ever more we’ll praise the Lord.
These words written to “Praise God From Whom All Blessings Flow.”
