The Church
The pains of the broken hearted souls cry out
Their sobbing voices ring with joy
Their fragile bodies shout Your name
This is the church in action
The beginning of salvation grace is found
In the relinquishment of selfish pride
And the reliance of the Saviour’s Cross
This is the church’s message
The song of the distressed is great
In those who bear the LORD’s name
For they hold the hope that flows from His hands
This is the church’s worship
The nail pierced hands upon the reddened cross
Find their timed reflection in us
When we are willing to let Him act
This is the church’s identity
This is the pain we carry
Though burden light it is
This is the life we live
In Him our joy is made complete
This is the God we serve
Our brilliant high priest
Who takes those weak in spirit
And uses them for his glory
To accomplish his will
