The Christmas Cracker
Well Tom Smith it’s a cracker
Sugar almond twist in a wrapper
That little bon’ bon’ you discovered
Way back in eighteen forty
You painted a pretty picture
From your Paris adventure
Something to be remembered
A Christmas cracker novelty
And throwing that log on the fire
Only proved your desire
You took it one step higher
With a simple popping thing
You added a mechanism
After experimenting
And now were all celebrating
Your Christmas cracker dream
The bon’ bon’ you transformed
Is now the Christmas scene
That Christmas cracker was born
With a whistle a hat and a scream
And were sharing them around the table
At these wonderful Christmas times
Wearing hats and blowing whistles
Telling jokes and funny rhymes
You created something unique
For the whole world to share
A Christmas cracker in a wrapper
Coloured tissue paper with flare
So it’s thanks to you and your trip
As we pull these crackers now
Remembering when they go pop
What you created was a Christmas Wow
Have A Wonderful Christmas Everybody
Just A Bit of History In The Making Of Christmas
