The Challenge of Tv

The Challenge of TV Authored by Chuck Keys While watching TV in stride My eyes were stuck inside Unable to blink or think color tone tint secured the link. The scenes change and grow While characters ebb and flow Happiness vs. Sadness Love vs. Madness Good vs. Bad Lady vs. Lad Noise quiet music and war Movies ads sports and more. Monotonously consuming time and space Forever deleting brains trace. Reading and writing math and science Gives life’s basics for actual reliance. Escape and reality are a choice for some Easily made by those who aren't numb Life is what's outside the box For those who are sly just like the fox.

Enjoyed the 'case' you made for experience outside the 'box' Chuck, although as Terry puts it below there is the propensity to get knowledge from many sources, I think that desire to learn is the key, and will maybe lead people on from just the 'box' or whatever it may be, that is the start..'

Education outside the box is great if it's the TV you are referring to but there is a world of knowledge inside the computer box. TLee

There's some really great programming on TV, Chuck, but nothing beats our time spent here on Poetry Soup.

Beautiful Chuck! Just say NO! I do not watch TV and would much rather read a poem or write one or pretty much just anything other than sit in front of that box! Thanks so much for this write!

Very wise, Chuck. Indeed, TV can only provide a temporary escape. "Life IS what's outside the box." Great work! Love, Carolyn
