The Cave

The cave underground
Chamber of darkness musk damp
Secure place__bat's home

Cave inside fireglow
Outward facing light Aspens
Golden yellow hair

Cave fear slow echo
Hollow blank lonely scarey
Empty dreams no hope

"Empty dreams no hope" sad and frightening, Sara. Nevertheless, insightful and deep. Peace, love, Audrey

Caves are a fine subject for poetry as you show here. Today's troglodytes are living the same way our ancestors did. Keep 'em coming Yours Matthew Anish

Sara, Wonderful as always. Scary too! Any place of no hope makes me afraid. Very afraid. Thank you so much for your kind words on my stuff. Love, Will

When we were kids we used to play in a bunker close to a river. This was quite dangerous as there were still ammunition and handgranates covered by water as relicts of the last war. But it was also filled with life from the bats! Enjoyed the read!...Gert
